Marianna Sangita's fellow concert with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, «Glädjeorkestern» Louisiana Avenue, beautiful world music from Javid Afsari Rad Ensemble with Håkon Kornstad, the concert performance «Melancholy Disco», Ytre Suløen's Jazz Ensemble does Thomas «Fat's» Waller, Steinar Raknes Bechers returns & Skeidsvoll New Orleans Band, The New Orleans Collective raises the roof in Kikkans Hall, and not least, this year's young jazz musicians will be chosen!

With this, the evening series in Kikkans Hall is finished, and tickets are on sale.

One ticket - two concerts!

Gov't Mule is fronted by guitarist and vocalist Warren Hayes from The Allman Brothers. There will be high quality blues rock the audience will experience this evening, the band is known as one of the world's leaders in the genre. This is a booking that fits nicely into the series of proud festival moments with Muddy Waters (1977), BB King (1985 and 2001), Buddy Guy (1986), Gary Clark jr (2012) and Taj Mahall (2017), only to mention a few.

Festival is people. Made by, for and about people. Every Sunday between 6 February and 27 March, a new episode of a seven-part documentary series with the theme Moldejazz will be released, made as short films from last year's festival.

Årets unge jazzmusikere 2022 skal kåres, og åtte unge, lovende band er plukket ut til å spille om tittel og stipend på noen av landets ledende jazzfestivaler det kommende halvåret. Under finalen på Moldejazz i juli vil ett av bandene kåres til Årets unge jazzmusikere 2022, og motta lanseringspakke fra Norsk jazzforum, mentorprogram støttet av Talent Norge samt Gramo-stipendet på kr 150 000.

Moldejazz has appointed former festival director Hans-Olav Solli as head of the festival's program committee, with responsibility for completing this year's program. Producer Cecilie Nogva becomes acting Festival Director.

These organizational adjustments will apply in Festival Director Mariann Bjørnelv's sick leave.

Artist in Residence John Zorn takes with him, among other things, the beautiful Nove Cantici with Bill Frisell, in addition to 7 other concerts in his residency. And once Frisell is in town, he also plays with Charles Lloyd. Jazz's big new voice, Cécile McLorin Salvant brings her band to us. Then there are Ane Brun, Metteson, Bernhoft and the British jazz star shot Emma-Jean Thackray.

We also post discounted Zorn packages, museum packages and introduce student prizes at several concerts.

The ticket packages replace the previous "passes" and give a 25% discount on the tickets in the package.

In 2022, the big outdoor concerts at Romsdalsmuseet will return during Moldejazz.

Moldejazz is launching a new, exclusive VIP Lounge at Romsdalsmuseet. With its own bar you can enjoy the concerts with excellent food and drinks, sitting or standing in a separated area and with a great view of the stage.

For forty years, John Zorn has been one of jazz's most creative and influential musicians. The famous saxophonist and composer has led, influenced and organized a number of sensational ensembles with some of the music form's most original musicians. Now he is Artist In Residence at Moldejazz 2022 with a slightly adjusted, but at least as spectacular, concert program as the one that was originally planned for the anniversary year 2020.

Vi har i dag mottatt det triste budskapet at Per Inge Hansen – vår alles kjære Per Inge «Pingen» Hansen – gikk bort sent i går kveld 80 år gammel.

Sammen med Kikkan Sættem var Pingen en av initiativtakerne og grunnleggerne av Molde International Jazz Festival i 1961.
