Are you our new artistic director?
Molde International Jazz Festival is hiring a new artistic director. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced person with significant competence within the jazz field who wants to be part of developing our festival in the future.
Located in the picturesque seaside town of Molde, Norway, surrounded by spectacular fjord and mountain landscapes, our festival has a rich history as the world's oldest continuous jazz festival since 1961. Now, we are looking for a visionary leader to take charge and propel the festival to new heights.
The right candidate for the job recognizes the value of teamwork and knows how to align the programming with the festival’s general work and development. We seek a person who is creative and structured and simultaneously visionary and bold in their work on behalf of the festival, developing the solid brand that is Molde International Jazz Festival as a locally, nationally, and internationally leading jazz festival. As artistic director, you are responsible for booking artists, initiating and curating exciting musical projects, and leading affiliated work groups within the organization.
This is a three-to four-year term and a fifty percent position where the work year is organized together with the managing director and administration at the start of employment. The Creative Director answers to Managing Director. Some travel will be required, including weekly meetings with the administration, either in person or through digital platforms. While living on-site in Molde is not mandatory, it presents a unique experience and opportunity to be part of our local as well as vibrant festival community.

The deadline for applications is July 23rd.
